I started snooping around the ever so confusing changes that Weebly did and happened upon a page that allowed me to set up the header like I used to!!! It's a miracle! It may never happen again but it's nice for today. So, Craig downloaded about two months worth of pictures the other day. I am going to start at the top and work my way through them. Seems the sanest way to handle the last couple months.
The above picture is from Salem Bible Time that took place at my church in early July (if memory serves me correctly). In that picture they are working on the play. The theme was Jonah and the whale. The other night I was ready a book about Jonah to Liam before bed and he started softly singing the song they sang for the play. Funny, he didn't know it during the play but he has sung parts of it several times since:) I think the temperature averaged about 132 degrees for the 5 evenings. But this year the A/C was working in the church!!!

This was performance night. Give the boy a pair of pants with pockets and you know where his hands will be. I had talked to him about that before he went up. Anyway...those pants were made by the local lady who is now doing his sewing. And they fit him so well. Sadly, while I was sick, at least for the entire month of August, he only got out to play about 5 times...I am talking real play, running, climbing, chasing. And due to that, and eating out of boredom which he does, he gained a few pounds. The 4 wonderful pairs of pants made a month before no longer fit him. In fact, last Sunday he ripped out the front of one of them. Today I ran into JoAnn's while Craig and I were running errands and picked up fabric for three more pair. And now that I am back in the saddle, for the most part, we are being more active and I am controlling what he is eating. I think I mentioned before, I can't walk for very long but I can ride my bike. And since summer has no plans of leaving us yet we have gotten in a lot of bike riding the last few weeks! Oh...and in case you can't spot the handsomest boy up there...he is smack dab in the middle of the front row:) With his hands in his pocket...if you needed further help.
Before I got sick we were going once a week to a friends pool to swim. This year he was tall enough to touch the bottom with his head above water so he didn't need a life jacket! He went from needing me in with him and being scared to climb down the steps to not needing me and climbing down the steps all on his own! I don't think he ever jumped in. At the end of September the Jefferson pool offered free swim lessons to homeschool students. By the end of those six lessons he was floating on his back without help and getting his head underwater without fear! He is such a cautious kid. I know in some ways that is good. But I wish he was a little less fearful of life.
Before I got sick we went to a friends wedding. We had a wonderful time and the kids really had a wonderful time! Lots of kids for him to play with and there was a pool! While playing here he did manage to rip the nail off of one of his toes. I am not sure if this picture is a happy one or the toe had just gotten hurt......probably happy.
This picture was taken at a friends house. The little boy on the far right is Liam's special friend, James. When they see each other they will run to each other and hug. I just thought this was such a cute picture of the three little guys.
While scrolling through the pictures Craig recently downloaded to Picasa I see that I am missing some. The next series of shots were taken right before I got sick, at Foster Reservoir. I can't show you those until I can also show you the ones we took last week! You will see why when I post that blog. I also am not sure where the garden and food pictures have gone to. But I will be searching! The birthday party blog will be up soon as well. I have a six year old now. He refuses to go back to being a baby or a toddler. He's mean that way.
I will leave you with a Liamism: On our way to Bible study on Tuesday evening he was quite chatty. And as my sister put it...he had pretty bouncy thoughts...."mommy, you still love me even though I make gross noises....mommy, Daisy is a nice dog but sometimes little dogs scare me, but I have two new friends, J.D and Gabby, they don't scare me....maybe I should only make six gross noises since I am six.
That would be a blessing!
