Oh...and happy National Pretzel Day also! Last year David was here so we actually had an Australian to hug. I wonder if people all over Australia go around hugging each other on this day. Hmmmm.
Things have been really damp and dreary around here the last few days. Not that I mind the rain. But I have some seedlings in my greenhouse that really really need some sun to take off I think. I remind them each time I go out there that they have to be in full and lovely bloom by May 22nd at the latest! At least I am seeing some growth!
So, I decided to share some pictures from last week. All the sun and warm weather and weeding that happened.

I am 99.999% sure that a man was never killed while weeding! He came home from work, changed his clothes and started helping me. Liam brought a chair over, sat right in front of him and didn't quit talking until we came in and he put some dinner in his mouth. Oh how he loves his daddy.
In a past post I showed a picture (I think) of the Kale after the snow melted. It was so dead....or so I thought. It came back with a vengeance! It is now gone to seed but the plants are a couple feet tall and gorgeous. Liam started bringing me leaves and pieces of plant and asking if he could eat them. Then he brought me one of these clovery type plants.
Yes, I said, that one you can eat. He took a nibble and said it was good. Then he turned to the Kale and asked if he could eat that. At first I said no thinking that it having gone to seed would make it so bitter. But I sampled a tiny fresh leaf and it was just fine. I showed him which leaves to pick and eat. He spent the next hour or so munching on Kale! Then he got a great idea of dipping it in ranch dressing.
I was shocked how much Kale he downed! That empty bed behind him is now full of cabbage and lettuce. The weeding out back is done except for a few foot square patch. On the way to a birthday party behind our house today I noticed how badly the weeding needs to be done along the sidewalk and in the front yard. It is looking really bad! So that is a job waiting on the nice days we are supposed to have next week.
And the parting shot...Liam tuned a box into a Rocket Ship for Boo Bankie. That is one lucky blankie!
And now for a Liamism: Today was we waited the last few minutes before leaving for the birthday party he was asking all about it. So full of questions he was. Then he said "I know all about parties, I am an excellent party commenter." And he did have a fun time at the party.
