Acid Ball to Earth....
Today was our lunch Monday with Craig's mom. After lunch we went to the Riverfront and Liam rode the carousel and played in the playground. Then we all took a walk to the old acid ball. It used to hold an acid that was used in making paper. That plant is now shut down and this is what the city did with the ball. They call it the Eco-Earth...since November 4, 2008 I have grown to detest all things 'eco, green, sustainable....etc" But it is sort of cool...the ball that is.
In the picture of the three of us at the picnic table Liam has just served a pile of mown grass... salad he called it. So cute. IF the weather ever improves we will take a real live picnic there and I think he will have a blast!
Today turned out to be cold, windy and wet. There were a few sun breaks...we would take off our jackets and start to warm up then the clouds would come along with the wind and the jackets would go back on. It hailed as we walked into the restaurant and then on the way home we had some rain/snow mix! Crazy spring weather in Oregon. And I will confess right now...I am not holding out any hope for tomorrow!
We ran into Fred Meyer on the way home to get some produce....how do I manage to spend nearly $80 on apples and broccoli!? Well, there was the 50% off lowest marked price on boys clothes....and yogurt was on sale....stocking up on those dangerous eco-unfriendly incandescent light bulbs that are going to be the ruination of us! So, it just adds up quickly. I keep threatening to take a calculator with me, even have one in my purse! But do I ever get it out...nooooooo, I don't remember it until the total pops up on the register. When will I learn!!?
I will leave you with a couple more pictures from today.
