Today is national iced tea day...it is also Have Lunch with my Mother in Law day....at least in my world. Always a very nice time. So, I will have my usual iced tea while having lunch with my mother in law. Perfect way to spend a Monday.
Yesterday morning I washed my hair, got dressed then opened the drawer to take out my blow dryer. No blow dryer!! I had left it in Coos Bay! I called a friend down the road and Craig picked up hers as he passed her house. My hair did not like it at all! The low was way to high and blew my hair around something awful! Got to church a half hour late to discover my hair dryer was there! It had been brought by the van load that left later than me!!! My hair breathed a sigh of relief!
We had a missionary from Greece last night at church. We are so blessed to be in the United States even with things falling apart around us! And he pointed out that we are a remnant for the world. Greece is not sending missionaries...you never really hear about other countries sending missionaries...but Americans give millions of dollars each year to send missionaries around the globe. All is not lost. He also said that though the Orthodox Greeks are very hard to reach, the Iranian people that arrive by the boat loads are very open to the gospel. I was happy to hear that. I find it so difficult to have a good thought toward the Muslim people. But I must remember that Jesus died for them just as much as he died for me. I am no more worth saving.
I replanted my green beans, cucumbers and cantaloupe. Filled in the dry bean rows and did some more weeding. While in Coos Bay I saw a plant just like the one that grows all over my yard. It is called Horse Tail and is a very very invasive weed that arrived in a load of dirt we got from a nursery in Albany. It is the most horrible stuff....much much worse that the weed that shoots at you I mentioned a couple months ago! I plan on looking it up to see if it has ANY redeeming value as an edible weed or for medicinal use...I highly doubt it! But I will let you know.
So that has been my life the last two days. Have a wonderful week!
