Monday was a busy day around here. Craig and a friend started tearing into the truck engine. They were going to be rebuilding the bottom part. And Craig started getting sick. By Monday evening he was pretty miserable and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday his friend basically worked alone on the engine. And Craig drank a lot of this......
And I rubbed a lot of these on his back and feet.....
I have to apologize....I was ready to post this blog. Weebly began acting up and when it came back this was all that was left. I am just not in the mood to finish up at this point. Maybe tomorrow I will get back on and tell you about our week and our sickness. Sorry guys. I tried.
Okay....I laid down in bed and read a chapter or two of the newest Duggar book. Growing up Duggar. I am feeling a little calmer and thought I might try once again to finish up this post.
Yesterday morning Liam came into my room crying that his tummy hurt. I gave him some children's pepto and about an hour later he said he felt much better. We went about our day. Craig miserable and Liam and me right as rain. It was sunny and pretty warm for mid February so I got out and did some weeding. I wanted to do the whole front yard but common sense did win out and I stopped after a few buckets full. I tend to push myself to hard, wanting to get it all done yesterday. Late afternoon came and I noticed that Liam was laying on the sofa under a blanket. He even turned down blowing bubbles given to him by the lady across the street. It hit him pretty quickly. At 7:45 he came up to my room and told me he was ready to go to sleep. I was on the phone and next thing I know he is sound asleep in my bed. I got him into his pull-up and into his trundle bed and he fell asleep right away. I checked his temp and it was just over 102. An hour later I checked it and it was 103.4! I took the heavy comforter off him and got him to drink some water. He fell back to sleep and about an hour later woke up and wanted to play with his Fire for a little while. Today Craig went to the doctor. He has to get a release for work since he had called in three days. The doctor was suspicious he had pneumonia so put him on antibiotics and wants him out of work until Sunday. When ever Craig gets a cold it always ends up in his lungs. At around 4:30 while Craig was still gone Liam walked up to me here at the computer and started to cry. I pulled him onto my lap and asked him what was wrong. He didn't know. I imagine it was partly his dad not being home and partly not feeling well. Daddy got home and they crawled into his recliner and vegged until dinner. This morning I woke up achy and coughing. But the aching is from weeding. I have had a fever around 100.2 most of the day. But no congestion like Craig and Liam. All I can say is that it has to be the oils. I have been very liberal with them on my feet, chest, neck. Liam also got quite a bit which makes me think that is why he has not really been too miserable. Right now he is bouncing around like normal:)
In the meantime, Craig's friend has been working mostly alone on the truck. He has really been a blessing! Tomorrow he is going to put the last of the stuff on and get it started. Once they tore into it they realized just how bad off it was. Though it hadn't begun blowing smoke yet the rod bearings, main bearings, seals and crankshaft were shot. The timing belt also was about ready to go. They also found out that the engine is not original to the truck. It came from a wrecking yard! The things you find out when you dig deeper!
So that has been our week. I have pictures (somewhat blurry) of the truck in various steps of dismantle. So I will be doing a truck post as soon as it is all put together....tomorrow!! And I am going to do a post on the essential oils I have been using. I am having great success with a few and want to share about them! Tomorrow is Valentine's and Liam has a big bag of special stuff waiting for him. He will be one happy little man. I also want to share about my 'resolutions' and how I am doing on them. Still good!
I will leave you with a Liamism: Yesterday in the mail was a valentine card for Liam from grandma and grandpa. He opened it to find a $5 bill. "A dollar!" he whispered in awe. Then I read him what the card said and what grandma had also written. "they must love me very much" he says. Yes....a lot of people love you very much precious little man!
