Fun at the Tulip Farm....
Liam and I joined a friend and her children for a morning at the tulip farm about an hour from our place. The weather was supposed to be nice so I put Liam in shorts... You would think that I should have this whole thing figured out by now....weather predicting in Oregon tends to be more a guessing game. It turned out chilly and cloudy. He didn't complain though...I do enough for both of us!
As you can tell by this picture it is very hard to get six little ones to hold still long enough for a photo. They got to ride the wooden shoe train which Liam thought was probably a highlight of his life up to now! We had a picnic lunch, used a portapotty...he could not figure out why he didn't need to flush...and played at a play ground for a little while.
Liam didn't want to leave and was ridiculously fussy most of the way home....is that a three year old stage? When he ran out of other things to complain about he wanted me to turn on 'turn left'. I told him we didn't need her since I knew where we were going...he said 'oh, yes, you only need her for going to Auntie Pam's house". Well as a matter a fact yes. We passed a lawn being mowed...he cried because we didn't stop to watch. At a red light he saw another lawn being mowed...I had to open my window so he could hear it. At the next red light we were beside a strip of lawn that didn't have a mower on it. He pointed out that that lawn needed to be mowed right now...'I am going to tell daddy to mow the 'mawn' when he wakes up!" You can't take Liam on a walk if you intend to keep your heart rate up because he has to stop and watch every mower that is being used!
I finally got my peas planted today! Then I did about 45 minutes of weeding. I was going to keep going with my lower back acting up but the little short guy got up from his rest time and I had to go in. The rain came back this evening and will stick around until Sunday evening. Hopefully next week it will stay dry and I can get quite a bit of work done outside!
Tomorrow is going to be a stay at home day...ironing, maybe....cleaning bathrooms, absolutely! And I might be coerced into getting out the vacuum....not as exciting as the lawn mower but quite interesting in its own right. And I also need to do a little catch up in my Bible reading. So there is my day! Hope yours is relaxing!
